In the shadows of Plant Quetta

"A recreation of the dramatic ending of Gundam: Witch from Mercury Episode 12. I focused on recreating the mood and dramatic lighting of the original scene. Display also has a removable shroud to control lighting conditions for best effect. Gunpla model has extensive detailing work done (described below) with weathering to reflect the recent battle and its entrance into the facility.
[Aerial Rebuild]
Hand built open cockpit modification, modified front torso parts and connected with pla plating and modeling putty. Pilot seat and console scratch built using pla plate. Cockpit LEDs wired through the body, through the leg and into the floor to hide the wires.
Extensive custom scribing detail and pla-plating over the Mobile Suit. Joint modification to allow the torso to bend forwards more. Selective seam line correction, nub removal and smoothing.
Outreached hand modified to form palmed closed fingers from the open aerial hand included with the Mirasoul Flight unit kit.
Airbrush and hand brush painted with hairspray chipping effect for weathering in combination with pre-shading. Post painting weathering, panel lining and decals applied.
[Diorama]
Entirely scratch built by hand with pla plate and acrylic plastic sheet. Custom lighting underneath the thin exposed pla plate to recreate the floor lighting from the anime. Spot lighting from the top of the structure to recreate the dramatic focus lighting from the end shot in the anime. All LED lighting solutions are hand soldered and wired. Floor and background are also created from pla plate. Railings are paper staples with pla plates for fencing. Entire diorama airbrushed with pre and post shading, oil paint filtering techniques for weathering. Blood and cracks hand painted.
[Suletta, Miorine and Rembran]
Figures are using the female pilot and loader figures from MS figure 01. Custom detailing hand sculpted using modeling putty, hand painted with acrylic paints.
