Dom [Magnum]

This work is a kitbash based on the original timeless design of the MS-09 Dom in the MSG series. Using parts from different kits such as the MG Barbatos and FAZZ, and also scratch-built parts, I hope to convey a sense of mechanical detail and my own personal style in this work. In terms of modifications, I have changed many parts of the Dom, such as thickening the chest and building a new cockpit hatch with spare parts from the RG Wing Zero (EW). I have also added circular parts inside the torso which are cut from the MG Dom's feet for mechanical effect. Some other major modifications include entirely changing the shape of the back of the legs to create an open-hatch effect by cutting open the original part and adding parts from different Bandai kits, such as the MG Rick Dom. The backpack is taken from the MG FAZZ Ver. Ka, and the thrusters are enlarged by attaching the leg inner frame from the MG Rick Dom. The cannon is based on the FAZZ cannon, but with a lengthened barrel and also a widened back part, made with plastic plate and epoxy putty. I have also added parts from the MG Wing Zero EW Ver. Ka's twin buster rifle in the back of the cannon to give it more weight and detail. Apart from these modifications, panel lines are also scribed across the whole work to divide the large armour panels and for the ease of colour separation. The painting style is that of metallic colours for the inner frame to accentuate the mechanical detail and also for contrast with the matte external armour. For the external parts, I have chosen to paint colour modulation with a matte finish for a striking visual effect and to accentuate the large armour pieces of the Dom. I hope that everyone enjoys this interesting painting style and my own interpretation of the MG Dom.
